HISTORY AND NATURE

The Regional Park of Bracciano and Martignano’s Lakes

The Regional Natural Park of Bracciano-Martignano was established November 25, 1999 with the Regional Law n. 36, with the purpose of guaranteeing and promoting the conservation and development of land and natural and cultural resources of the vast area of the Monti Sabatini. The protected area covers 16,682 hectares on the territory of the municipalities of Anguillara, Bassano Romano, Bracciano, Campagnano, Manziana, Monterosi, Oriolo Romano, Rome (XX Municipio), Sutri and Trevignano Romano, between the provinces of Rome and Viterbo.

In and around the park there are many paths and places of great interest:

- The two lakes and the wood cycle paths – 5/20 min

- The Manziana forest – 20 min

- The Manziana geyser – 30 min

- Canale Monterano national park – 35 min

- Oriolo Romano beech forest – 35 min

- Castel Giuliano water falls – 35 min

ROME

If you’d like to visit Rome the B & B will be an excellent base, combining the magic atmosphere of the “eternal city” with the quiet and beauty of the lake.

 

We just provide you with some information on transport services that you can use to reach Rome.

 

BY CAR: at about 4 Km the B&B, in Osteria Nuova, you can choose one of the main streets:

-        Via Braccianense ->Via Cassia (Centro Flaminio/Trastevere/Testaccio)

-        Via della stazione di Cesano -> Via Cassia Bis (Roma Nord and A1 motorway Roma-Firenze-Milano)

-        Via di Santa Maria di Galeria -> Via Aurelia (S. Pietro/Trastevere)

 

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTS: you can use the shuttle bus at few steps from the B&B (Piazza del Molo, ticket on board) to reach the Anguillara railway station. Every 30 minutes a train to Rome will bring you in 30-40 minutes to the main stations of the city centre (S. Pietro, Trastevere, Termini, Ostiense).
